Dusting off the ol' LJ for suggestions. I don't know if any brewers will read this, but worth a shot.

I'm looking at doing an American IPA next weekend, my recipe is Jamil's "Hoppiness is an IPA" from Brewing Classic Styles. I can't get American 2 row, so I'm taking the suggestion of using English and leaving out the Munich (adjusting the amount of base malt to account for leaving it out) - I do all grain, so it's not the extract recipe. So I put the numbers in Beersmith and it's telling me my FG will be 1.017, whereas the recipe suggests it should be 1.012. I've used Beersmith's gravity adjustment, so I have the right OG.

Is there anything I'm missing here? Do I just need to use more attenuative yeast (I don't think Beersmith accounts for this). How the FUCK do I get this beer down to 1.012?

Dear Triple M radio guy who said Pink Floyd would be playing at 9am when it turns out it was actually more like 8:30,

I am coming to kill you slowly and painfully.

Just watched The Parting of the Ways, was kinda worried that I was going to be let down after I spent the whole week excited, but I can honestly say HOLY BUBBLENUTS OF AWESOME.

I hope David Tennant keeps wearing that jacket.

Funny if you know what's been going on with Malcolm Glazer buying Man. Utd:

If I'd been drinking anything it would have been sprayed across my keyboard when I read this:

"Liverpool Reds: European Series winners after a 12-yard kick-ball challenge"

Stolen from lunameow

1. Take the lyrics to a favorite song.
2. Go to Google Language Tools,
translate the lyrics into German,
then from German to French,
and finally from French back into English.
http://www.google.com/language_tools

3. Post the results verbatim.
4. Invite friends to guess the song based on the interesting new lyrics.

A pretty easy one, but still fucking funny:

You think yourselves if as you can declare skies of the hell, blue skies the pain. can you declare a field green of a band out of steel cold? to smile of a veil. Do you think yourselves can say? And they veranliessen they, your Heroes rôder to act? For trees is called it ashes it? * air for expenses Breaks? Cold comfort for modification? And did you exchange a manner on the part during the war against a role of control within a framework? As I wish it, as I wish it, you were here. We are of the two right lost hearts and swim in a fish, roll, year after year. * to run Over the same old man ground. What did we find? The same feared old woman. You were a desire here.

I think my favourite part is "And did you exchange a manner on the part during the war against a role of control within a framework?"

How do you format your mp3 file names? For example, mine are: <band name> - <song name>.mp3, I know some people do them <band name> - <track no.> - <song name>.mp3, and I'm trying to get and idea of some common formats.

I managed to lock myself out on the hottest day of the Summer so far (apologies to Fluffhead, that's why I said I'd be back in 20 minutes and wasn't). I bought myself some beers, bottles of coke, chips, ice and newspaper, filled a bin that we have for barbeques with the ice, chucked in the beer and coke and sat around reading the paper and drinking for a few hours, and it ended up being about the best time I've had this Summer. It's a Christmas miracle!

Pornolized my LJ friend page, this is taken from one of Aardwolfe's pornolized entries. For some reason I found it insanely funny:

"I went to the titty fucking doctor yesterday, and he said I have bipolar disorder, which assfucks me different enough to be raunching, but the raunching same as all the assfucking other cool people with bipolar disorder."
